Rome Flynn, Algee Smith, Desi Banks, and Siv Ngesi are set to lead the upcoming action-comedy Boyz Trip, which is currently filming in Cape Town.
According to Deadline, the film is directed and written by Kyle Scott and centers on four college friends whose annual reunion takes a chaotic turn. What begins as a simple getaway quickly spirals into an international misadventure, forcing them to rely on their bond, questionable skills, and pure luck just to make it out alive.
The film also features a diverse supporting cast including Ama Qamata, Thapelo Mokoena, Bohang Moeko, Ama K. Abebrese, Alessandra Fuller, and Francisca Aronsson.
Produced by Autumn Bailey-Ford, the project is being brought to life under KeyScott Entertainment and Canyon View Media. In a statement, Bailey-Ford expressed excitement about the production, highlighting the unique experience of filming in South Africa.
Algee Smith is known for his breakout role in The New Edition Story, as well as appearances in Detroit and HBO’s Euphoria. His notable roles include Khalil in The Hate U Give and Jake Winters in Judas And The Black Messiah.
Rome Flynn gained recognition for his role on The Bold And The Beautiful, earning a Daytime Emmy Award in 2018. He has also appeared in How To Get Away With Murder and With Love.
Boyz Trip is expected to premiere in 2026, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
