In a landmark move, Academy members are now required to watch all nominated films in a category to be eligible to vote in that category’s final round.
Mandatory Viewing for Voters
This rule addresses longstanding concerns about uninformed voting practices, where members might cast votes without viewing all contenders. Verification will be conducted through the Academy Screening Room platform or via a “seen elsewhere” form for films viewed outside the platform. If a member hasn’t seen a particular film, they won’t be able to vote in that category.
