MMA Fighter Suing California DOT After A Career-Ending Car Accident
Pro MMA Fighter, Chris Bonilla, is now suing California Department of Transportation after a car accident that happened last year, which unfortunately severed his leg.
He claims the DOT is responsible for the accident after he crashed into an unmarked cement barrier on the side of a California freeway. According to Complex News, “Although doctors were able to reattach his leg, Bonilla’s legal team claims the fighter’s leg is in “bad shape” and the complications will eventually lead to an amputation.” Obviously, this will be detrimental to his career and Bonilla is not going down without a fight.
Via Complex:
Per court documents obtained by TMZ, Chris Bonilla was driving on the 10 Freeway near West Covina last year when he needed to pull off the road.
Bonilla crashed into an unmarked barrier on the way, resulting in a life-altering accident that broke his collarbone and severed his leg. Although doctors were able to reattach his leg, Bonilla’s legal team claims the fighter’s leg is in “bad shape” and the complications will eventually lead to an amputation.
How y’all feel about this situation? Do you think California DOT should be fully responsible for the crash that caused his career to come to an end? Let’s pray that Bonilla will be able to continue with his career after recovery and that he will receive justice if its found that CA DOT did not do enough to prevent this career-ending accident from happening. And now you’re officially in the KNOW!
