Marsai Martin Breaks Guinness World Record As Youngest Hollywood Executive Producer
Marsai Martin has officially been named the youngest Hollywood executive producer by the Guinness World Records.
The 16-year Blackish star- born August 14, 2004 – earned this title with her breakout film Little. She was 14-years old at the time of it’s release on April 12, 2019. The movie brought in $49 million at the box office.
Little tells the story of a domineering boss who becomes a child again and learns the error of her ways, proving that kindness always wins.
Martin was not just credited as an executive producer, but starred in the film as well. She first brought the idea of the movie to her parents as they sat in their living room. Then she took it to Blackish creator Kenya Barris, and said, “the rest was history.”
Growing up reading the Guinness Book of Records, Martin was shocked to learn that she would be featured in the 2021 edition. “I was very shocked for sure. For me, I could have never imagined being a part of something like this, I am so beyond grateful to be part of it.”
Martin’s journey doesn’t end here. She has plans to create more films, with two movies already in the works — while continuing her role on ABC’s Blackish. She also revealed that she is dipping into the Sci-Fi genre.

“I hope that all the young Black girls out there really see how a change can really happen, just by being yourself, just by any imagination you have that can run wild. You only live once so go for it.”
Congratulations, Marsai Martin!
