Lil Jon’s Son, DJ Young Slade, Reported Missing in Georgia — Family, Police Seek Help

Authorities are searching for Nathan Smith, the 27-year-old son of Grammy-winning rapper Lil Jon, after he was reported missing Tuesday morning in Milton, Georgia. Known professionally as DJ Young Slade, Smith has not been seen since he left his home on foot early Tuesday without his cellphone, sparking concerns from family and law enforcement over his safety.

The Milton Police Department issued a missing person alert Tuesday afternoon after Smith was last seen near Baldwin Drive and Mayfield Road at around 6 a.m. According to the report, he ran out of his residence and has not been located since. Police stressed there is no known danger to the public but noted that Smith may be disoriented and in need of assistance due to being without a phone or means of communication.

Smith is described by authorities as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. No further details on his clothing or condition were immediately released. Law enforcement has asked residents and anyone in the community with information to contact the Milton Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line or reach out to Detective Sarah Moore directly.

Lil Jon, whose legal name is Jonathan Smith, has appealed to the public for privacy at this difficult time. Through a representative, the family has also asked for continued prayers for Nathan’s safe return as the search efforts continue.

Smith has been steadily building a career in music, following in the footsteps of his father. Under the moniker DJ Young Slade, he released the single “Feels” in March 2025 and appeared on MTV’s reality series Family Legacy last year. Friends, fans, and members of the music community have expressed support and concern on social media as news of his disappearance spreads.

Anyone with information on Smith’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Milton Police Department at (678) 297-6300 or via email to Detective Sarah Moore at sarah.moore@miltonga.gov
