John Singleton’s Mom Named Executor Of Estate, Says No One Helped Prevent His Death
The Singleton family drama continues.
The mother of Hollywood director John Singleton has been named the executor of his estate following a lengthy legal battle with his daughter.
The Blast reports:
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Sheila Ward was given full authority to administer Singleton’s estate.
Ward filed Singleton’s will with the court back in May, which called for her to be the executor of the estate.
But Singleton’s daughter, Cleopatra, objected to her grandmother’s request to be named special administrator of the estate. Ward had claimed she needed the power ASAP but Cleopatra claimed that Ward was trying to give the court the “runaround” with her petition.
Cleopatra argued, “If the Court believes there is an immediate need for letters of special administration, Ms. Singleton requests that the powers be limited to collecting assets, paying regular obligations of the estate, and depositing income. Ms. Singleton further requests that a bond be required for the assets that Petitioner anticipates are present and will be received.”
As the two were battling it out, Ward filed for an emergency petition to be named special administrator of his estate and accused someone of taking things from his house and giving them out without permission.
In her filing, Ward claimed that Singleton’s “personal property is at risk.” She said that Singleton secured his valuables in a locked office located in his home but claimed that the locked office “was recently breached by a third party and items were removed and distributed without authorization to a beneficiary who believed that he was protecting the assets from other beneficiaries.”
In other Singleton news, John’s mother went to social media and accused certain people of doing nothing to help him the night before he died.
According to TMZ, the main person Shelia was addressing was the mother of John’s son.
Shelia claims John then took a bath with his infant son, Seven, but his body began to tremor — showing serious signs of distress — and he was almost too weak to get himself out of the tub. He also allegedly threw up blood.
Rather than call 911, Shelia says Rayvon simply put John to bed. His mother says she’s haunted by that thought and says, “I can’t stop thinking about this truth. Can’t blame them. Don’t blame them. I feel so sorry for them because they must live with it.”
Rayvon says she’s shocked by Shelia’s accusations, and thought they were on good terms. Rayvon said she would never have done something to prevent John from getting help if she believed it was a serious medical situation.
Hopefully John’s loved ones will be able to dissolve all of the friction in their family. May they all find the peace they need.
