Jesse Williams Joins The Morning Show for Season 5

We’ve got a major casting update for the next chapter of The Morning Show-and it’s already stirring excitement.

Jesse Williams has officially joined the cast of the hit Apple TV+ drama for its upcoming fifth season. The acclaimed, multi-award-winning series continues to expand its roster with powerful new additions, and Williams is stepping into a role that promises to shake things up.

Williams will portray Vernon, UBN’s newly appointed Head of News. Described as a brash and provocative figure, Vernon is known for his ability to captivate audiences while stirring controversy. His arrival is expected to disrupt the newsroom dynamic and create tension among the network’s established power players.

Best known for his role as Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey’s Anatomy, Williams brings both star power and dramatic intensity to the series. His character is already being labeled a “pot-stirrer,” hinting at major storylines centered around media influence, leadership clashes, and shifting alliances.

Williams joins an already star-studded ensemble that includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Shari Belafonte, Desean Terry, Karen Pittman, and newly announced cast member Jeff Daniels.

At 44, Williams continues to build a diverse career across television, film, and gaming. In addition to Grey’s Anatomy, he has appeared in films like The Cabin in the Woods and The Butler, and gained recognition in the gaming world for his performance in Detroit: Become Human. He also stars in the action-drama series Hotel Costiera on Amazon Prime Video.

Season 5 of The Morning Show has already been confirmed, with expectations pointing toward a 2027 release based on the show’s previous rollout schedule.

With Williams stepping into a bold new role, fans can expect even more high-stakes drama, newsroom politics, and headline-making moments in the seasons ahead.
