Jamal Roberts Wins Season 23 of ‘American Idol’

Congratulations to Jamal Roberts, who was crowned the American Idol: Season 23 winner this past Sunday.

The 27-year-old Crestwood Elementary P.E. teacher captured the hearts of America with his soulful performances and inspiring journey. He triumphed over talented finalists John Foster (runner-up) and Breanna Nix (third place).

Jamal’s Idol journey began when he wowed the judges in the audition rounds with a powerful rendition of “Mary Jane” by Rick James, earning him a coveted golden ticket. From there, he continued to shine week after week with heartfelt performances and undeniable charisma.

Jamal became only the second Black man to win American Idol in the show’s 23-season history the first since 2018.
