“Insecure” And “Beverly Hills, 90210” Star Denise Dowse Has Died At 64
Talented actress and director Denise Dowes passed away on Saturday at the age of 64. Her sister, Tracey, shared the news on Instagram.
On August 7, she shared that the Insecure star contracted meningitis and slipped into a coma.
Dowse was best known for playing West Beverly Hills High Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley on the series Beverly Hills 90210. She also landed a recurring role as therapist Rhonda Pine on Insecure.
Denise Dowse moved from Hawaii to Los Angeles in the ’80s, working as an actress to make extra money. She got her first speaking role in an episode of Alf. Other characters she portrayed were Olivia Biggs in Bio-Dome, Sky Marshal Meru in Starship Troopers, Judge Constance Mullen in A Civil Action, Marlene Andre in Ray, Principal Garrison in Coach Carter, and Flora in The Call.
Her television credits are just as long. She was featured in Full House, Seinfeld, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, News Radio, ER, The Mentalist, Monk, Bones, Sister Sister, The Guardian, Criminal Minds, Gilmore Girls, The Resident, and Snowfall.
