In Petty News: Popeyes Tells Customers To BYOB (Bun) To Get A Chicken Sandwich

Still looking for a Popeyes chicken sandwich in your area? Well, the restaurant chain announces that they’re still sold out but they have a short time solution for everyone.

Popeyes posted a video on social media Thursday morning promoting their BYOB (Bring Your Own Bun) campaign.

That’s right. Popeyes is allowing guests to bring in their own buns, order its three-piece tenders and make their own chicken sandwiches right there on the spot.

“While we work to get the sandwich back in our restaurants, we wanted to offer our guests a fun way to satisfy their Popeyes sandwich cravings,” said Bruno Cardinali, Popeyes’ head of marketing for North America, in a statement to CNN.

In August, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen announced that they will be selling chicken sandwiches nationwide and when it was released, folks went crazy over it. The chain ended up selling out in 2 weeks, now customers are devastated.

The restaurant execs are hoping this quick fix will carry them over for now.

What do y’all think? Is this BYOB option a good idea for the time being? Do the tenders taste exactly like the chicken in a sandwich? Leave us a comment below.
