Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ and ‘Jacksons: An American Dream’ Child Actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. Dies at 42

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor best known for his memorable roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream. He passed away early Wednesday morning at his home in Maryland from a heart attack. He was 42 years old.

His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, sharing that her son had suffered three prior heart attacks over the past three years. She added that she had just spoken to him the night before his sudden passing.

Born in Washington, D.C., on August 17, 1983, Myers graduated from Suitland High School in District Heights, Maryland, in 2001. As a child, he captivated audiences with his natural talent and charisma on screen.

In 1992, Myers portrayed a young Will Smith in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Season 3 episode titled “Will Gets Committed.” That same year, he starred as a young Marlon Jackson in the acclaimed ABC miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream, appearing alongside Angela Bassett, Vanessa Williams, and Billy Dee Williams. He later had a small role in the television drama Young Americans in 2000.

Beyond acting, Myers was deeply committed to empowering others. He co-founded the Fellaship Men’s Group, a nonprofit organization offering wellness programs, healing circles, and workshops designed to help men reconnect with their purpose and redefine strength through community and compassion.

His sister, Tyree Trice, confirmed his passing on a GoFundMe page created to help support his four children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — and assist with funeral expenses.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of my beloved brother, Floyd Roger Myers Jr., who tragically left us today after a sudden heart attack. He was a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met,” Tyree wrote.

The beloved actor’s early work left a lasting mark on audiences who grew up watching him, and his dedication to uplifting others continued to define his legacy long after he left the screen.

Your light, warmth, and talent will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace, Floyd Roger Myers Jr. (1983–2025).
