Former NBA Player Matt Barnes Proposes to Anansa Sims
She said yes! Matt Barnes and his girlfriend Anansa Sims are officially engaged.
The former NBA player and ESPN Sports Analyst popped the question on Christmas Day. The couple shared photos of the beautiful moment on Instagram.
The couple has known each other since their days attending UCLA. Sims is the daughter of supermodel Beverly Johnson.
In 2017 they connected romantically and have been an item ever since. They have a 4-year old son together.
Their relationship has had its ups and downs. In 2020, they called it quits and Sims allegedly seeked $15k in child support monthly. In 2021, Sims shared that the couple had rekindled their romance, but their rollercoaster of a relationship didn’t end there.
In October 2022, Barnes was accused of mistreating Sims’ other children by their father, David Patterson. The model was married to the former Atlanta Falcons player, and together, they share three children.
Peterson claimed that Barnes only interacted with the children during dinner. Sims and Barnes denied these allegations.
This will also be Barnes’ second marriage. He was married to Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan in 2013, and divorced in 2016. She married former NBA star and coach Derek Fisher in 2021. Govan and Barnes shared 14-year-old twin boys together.
Barnes also dealt with custody drama in the pass but its good to see that everyone is happy now.
After sharing the happy news, Barnes expressed how much Sims meant to him.
Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
