Father Kills 3 Daughters, A Chaperone, And Himself During A Supervised Visit At Church

A 39-year old man kills his three children, a chaperone, and then himself during a supervised visit at a church on Monday. His children were girls ages 9, 10, and 13.

The gunman has been identified as David Fidel Mora-Rojas. According to law enforcement, the girl’s mother had a restraining order against the shooter.

The victims’ names haven’t been released yet.

Sgt. Rodney Grassmann, a spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, said authorities are investigating how he got the firearm despite the court order.

The church is known to have Bible study classes for children and teens, but nothing was on the schedule for Monday.Officials are still trying to piece together the chain of events that led to the father entering the sanctuary with a loaded gun.

Sheriff’s officials are investigating it as a domestic violence incident, he said.

Governor Gavin Newsom released a statement via Twitter about the horrific tragedy.
