The actress met her husband Hannibal Jackson through a mutual friend in 2007, and the couple wed 2 years later on September 5 at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Washington, Maryland.

They have two children together, daughter Hannah Belle Jackson, 9, and son John Ervin Jackson, 7.
