Dr. Dre’s Large Donation To USC Resurfaces After Recent Post Of Daughter’s Acceptance To The University.
Legendary hip hop producer Dr. Dre receives backlash after he announced on Instagram that his daughter was accepted to USC years after donating a large portion of money to the school.
Over the last couple of weeks, news broke that many well-known (and very wealthy) parents allegedly payed for their children to be accepted at some of the top Universities in the country. One of those mentioned was Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli and their alleged payment of $500,000 to USC so their daughter could get into the prestigious school according to NBC News. The “Full House” actress has since been indicted on those charges.
Recently, Dr. Dre made an Instagram post that added fuel into the already blazing controversary.
Here is more on the story below:
Dre, 54, a former member of the rap group NWA and whose real name is Andre Young, was a proud dad Saturday when he shared the news of his daughter, Truly Young, gaining admission into USC.
In the now-deleted post, the music mogul wrote, “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!” Accompanying the post was a picture of his daughter proudly holding her certificate of admission.
The prestigious private university is among a number of schools involved in the $25 million college admissions scandal which focused on getting students admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities, and helping potential students cheat on their college exams, according to the March 12 indictment.
USC said it will investigate the admissions-status of students believed to be linked to the scandal in which two of the school’s athletic department employees were fired.”
Alright so how are y’all feeling about this story. Do you think Dr. Dre showed guilt by deleting his post or was he just trying to separate himself from all of the drama going on? I think this is a challenging situation mainly because it is hard to say whether or not the donation influenced her being accepted into the school. Also, I don’t think just because you have a wealthy parent that is a well-known philanthropist, they should quickly assume that their money influenced your acceptance letter. There are many twists and turns in this situation. Let me know what you think. Leave a comment below. Now you’re officially in the KNOW!
The water is troubled right now so he needs to just stay quiet.
