Dr. Dre Announces Plans To Build South L.A. School During USC Building Unveiling With Jimmy Iovine
The high-tech building named after music mogul Andre “Dr. Dre” Young and Interscope Records founder Jimmy Iovine was unveiled at the University of Southern California campus Wednesday.
Dr. Dre and Iovine attended the dedication ceremony for the Iovine and Young Hall, where Iovine said the pair was also working to build a high school in the same area of South Los Angeles.
Here’s more on the event from KTLA:
Dr. Dre and Iovine donated a combined total of $70 million for the building.
As you all may recall, Dre caught backlash from folks when he posted a photo of he and his daughter celebrating her admission to USC.
Followers on social media immediately reminded him of the donation he made.
He then deleted the post.
Regardless, we’re glad to see Dre and Iovine pouring into our community and looking forward to seeing the positive outcomes from their contributions.
