Authorities in Los Angeles are investigating after a decomposed, dismembered female body was discovered inside a Tesla registered to rising music star D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke).
The discovery was made Monday at a Hollywood impound lot after staff reported a strong odor coming from the vehicle. Police confirmed the body was found inside the car’s front trunk, or “frunk,” in an advanced state of decomposition.
Victim Details
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said the victim is believed to be a woman approximately 5-foot-2, with wavy black hair.
She was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and studded earrings, and had a distinct tattoo reading “Shhhh” on her right index finger.
Due to the level of decomposition, authorities say it may take time to determine her identity and the cause of death.
The Vehicle
The Tesla, bearing Texas plates and registered to Burke, was reportedly abandoned in the Hollywood Hills before being towed. Officials confirmed the vehicle had not been reported stolen.
D4vd’s Response
The 20-year-old Houston-born singer, who rose to prominence with viral hits such as “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me”, is currently on his “Withered” world tour and performed in Minneapolis just hours after the discovery.
His representatives said in a statement that the artist is “fully cooperating with law enforcement” and declined to provide further comment.
Investigation Ongoing
Police have not named any suspects, and no charges have been filed. Authorities are now focused on confirming the victim’s identity and tracing how the remains came to be inside the vehicle.
The shocking discovery has sent ripples through both the music industry and D4vd’s fan base, raising questions about what role—if any—the artist may have had in the case.
As the LAPD’s investigation continues, the medical examiner’s findings are expected to provide crucial details that could reshape the trajectory of the inquiry in the days ahead.
