Charles Rogers, Former Detroit Lions Receiver, Dead At 38
Former Michigan State football All-American and Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers has died.
Former coach Don Durrett said Rogers, who played football for him at Saginaw High, died overnight. A cause of death wasn’t immediately available.
The Lions selected Rogers with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, but his career never took off as he admittedly struggled with drug issues.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder had just 36 catches for 440 yards with four TD in 15 games before he left the league.
Charles Rogers was 38.
