Chadwick Boseman’s Hometown Is Working On A Statue To Honor Him
Chadwick Boseman‘s hometown of Anderson, SC is already working on building a statue to honor the late Hollywood actor but it doesn’t look like it will replace the confederate memorial in their town square.
A spokesperson for Mayor Terence Roberts’ office told TMZ that the city has already contacted an artist and they’re brainstorming ideas on how to honor the worldwide hero.
The spokesperson also added that they don’t have the details but assured that it will be suitable for a king.
A Change.org petition received thousands of signatures calling for Chadwick’s statue to replace a Confederate monument in front of their courthouse. According to the spokesperson, that’s not the Mayor’s call. In order for the monument to be removed, a two-thirds vote from the state legislature is required.
