Boston Blue is the highly anticipated new police procedural drama from CBS, serving as a spinoff of the long-running hit Blue Bloods. The series follows NYPD Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as he takes on a new challenge with the Boston Police Department.

Plot Overview
After decades in New York, Danny Reagan accepts a position with the Boston PD, hoping for a fresh start and a chance to be closer to his son Sean (Mika Amonsen), who is beginning his own law enforcement journey in Boston. Danny is partnered with Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), a sharp and determined investigator who happens to be the eldest daughter in one of Boston’s most influential law enforcement families.

Behind the Scenes
Boston Blue was developed by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (known for L.A.’s Finest) and produced by CBS Studios in partnership with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Interestingly, the series was originally pitched under the working title Jamaica Plain, named after a Boston neighborhood, before being reimagined as a Blue Bloods spinoff.
Executive producer and lead star Donnie Wahlberg returns to the role that made him a fan favorite, while Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead, Star Trek: Discovery) joins as the co-lead.
