Brooklyn Nets Hire Steve Nash As Head Coach, Stephen A. Smith Shows Love For Nash But Calls The Move “White Privilege”
The Brooklyn Nets have made a surprising move in hiring Basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash as their head coach. This decision threw many off guard because although Nash has skills on the court, he has zero skills as a coach.
Basketball commentator Stephen A. Smith gave Nash his flowers and praise but calls the Nets’ move to hire him as “white privilege.” He further explained that there are many qualified Black coaches who were overlooked.
The Brooklyn Nets have players Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant on the team — with Steve Nash, the Nets should have a good season but Smith touched on some heartbreaking facts.
In about ever industry, Black people have to work twice as hard — and in the end, still may not receive the job.
What do y’all think? Do you agree with Smith and do you believe Nash will do a great job? Leave us a comment.
