“Boyz n the Hood” actress Esther Scott has died at the age of 66 following a heart attack last week.
According to TMZ, the actress was found unconscious in her Santa Monica home last Tuesday and was taken to the hospital, where she passed away a few days later.
Her rep confirmed to Variety that she died on Friday.
“She loved what she did,” her sister told the outlet. “She would get stopped on the street often and people would recognize her — but they didn’t know her name. Hopefully now people will remember her name, her work and the contributions she gave to the entertainment industry.”
Esther long career begin in the 1980s. Her list of credits include TV and film projects such as: The Geena Davis Show, Hart of Dixie, Austin Powers in Goldmember, You Got Served, Dreamgirls, The Pursuit of Happyness, Encino Man, Beverly Hills 90210, The Craft, Melrose Place and Senseless but she’s probably most known for her role as Tisha’s grandmother in Boyz n the Hood.
