Bernie Sanders Hospitalized For Heart Procedure, Cancels Campaign Events
Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders had a heart procedure after suffering chest discomfort during a campaign event Tuesday evening in Las Vegas.
“Following medical evaluation and testing, he was found to have a blockage in one artery and two stents were successfully inserted. Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits,” senior campaign adviser Jeff Weaver said. “He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”
The Vermont senator, 78, is among the top contenders eyeing for the 2020 Democratic nomination. He trails former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the polls.
Get well soon, Bernie!
