They’re back together again — this time on Matlock.
Actor Edwin Hodge, best known to TV audiences for his role as Special Agent Ray Cannon on FBI: Most Wanted, is set to return to CBS as a guest star in Season 2 of Matlock. The appearance marks a highly anticipated on-screen reunion with his real-life wife, Matlock series regular Skye P. Marshall, who plays attorney Olympia Lawrence.
Marshall celebrated the reunion on social media, posting a warm “welcome to Matlock” message to her husband, sparking excitement among fans of both actors.
A New Character Enters the Matlock Universe
Hodge will portray Langston, a brilliant and charming PhD in neuroscience and philosophy. The character is described as deeply intelligent, confident, and just self-assured enough to be mildly irritating — the kind of person who arrives late, knows he’s late, and still wins the room. In a series built on sharp intellect, moral gray areas, and intense legal maneuvering, Langston is expected to add compelling layers to the show’s central mystery.
Whether — or how much — Langston will interact with Olympia remains under wraps. However, with Olympia newly single, fans are already speculating about possible sparks and storylines that could emerge from the dynamic.
A Familiar Face to CBS Viewers
Hodge’s casting signals a return to CBS following the conclusion of FBI: Most Wanted last year, where he was a series regular from seasons four through six. His résumé spans both television and film, including standout roles as Dorian in The Tomorrow War, Ron Boone in Winning Time, and memorable appearances in The Terminal List, Chicago Fire, For All Mankind, and Mayans M.C.
He is also widely recognized as Dante Bishop in The Purge film franchise, making him the only actor to appear in the first three films. His film credits include Bumblebee, Red Dawn, As Above, So Below, and The Good Neighbor. Off-screen, Hodge co-runs Hodge Brothers Productions with his brother, actor Aldis Hodge.
Real-Life Reunion
Hodge and Marshall previously worked together on the short-lived CBS medical drama Good Sam and were married in 2024, making their Matlock reunion especially meaningful for fans.
What’s Next for Matlock
The rebooted Matlock, starring Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, continues to follow her secret double life at the law firm Jacobson Moore. Season 2 dives deeper into the fallout from the Wellbrexa case and the evolving, tension-filled relationship between Matty and Olympia.
Matlock returns to CBS on February 26, with Edwin Hodge’s guest appearance poised to bring fresh intrigue — and a real-life love story — into the courtroom drama.
