“I Used to Dream About This…”
Getting emotional at the podium, Shepherd reflected on her early days hustling for gigs while riding the bus past the Walk of Fame stars she once dreamed of joining.
“I would look at those names and say, ‘One day that’s gonna be me.’ And now — it is me!” she said, holding back tears as the crowd erupted in applause.
The moment was especially touching for Shepherd’s 19-year-old son, Jeffrey Tarpley Jr., who proudly watched his mom’s big day from the front row.
A-List Friends Bring the Love
It wouldn’t be a Sherri Shepherd moment without a little star power — and her friends definitely showed up.
Tyler Perry took the mic to deliver a heartfelt speech, praising Shepherd for her resilience and radiant spirit:
“There are people who bring light, and then there are people who are light. Sherri is light. When she walks into a room, you feel it.”
Next up, the always-fabulous Niecy Nash-Betts brought the house down with an emotional (and hilarious) tribute to her longtime friend.
“You’ll never know what it costs her sometimes to make people laugh — but she still shows up, shining. That’s the kind of woman Sherri is,” Niecy said, fighting back tears before joking, “And don’t mess up my makeup while I’m crying over you!”
The ceremony also featured remarks from Ira Bernstein, co-President of Debmar-Mercury (the syndicator behind Shepherd’s daytime hit Sherri), and was emceed by radio host Ellen K.

From her early sitcom days on The Jamie Foxx Show and 30 Rock, to her time as a co-host on The View — where she snagged a Daytime Emmy — and now her self-titled talk show Sherri, Shepherd’s career has been all about laughter, honesty, and heart.
And she’s not slowing down anytime soon — she’s set to kick off a nationwide comedy tour in early 2026, proving that she’s still got plenty of punchlines (and purpose) left in her.
Hollywood Blvd Belongs to Sherri
By the end of the ceremony, the crowd chanted her name as she unveiled her shiny new star — the 2,827th on the Walk of Fame — right where she used to dream it would be.
Shepherd laughed, smiled, and raised her arms in triumph, declaring:
“God did it — and I’m just getting started!”
Bottom Line: Sherri Shepherd’s Walk of Fame ceremony was more than just another Hollywood milestone — it was a full-circle moment for one of TV’s most genuine and hardworking stars. With Tyler Perry and Niecy Nash by her side, it was equal parts tears, laughs, and pure Sherri magic.
