It’s Freddy’s world, and Hollywood’s just living in it — because Robert Englund, the man who’s been haunting our dreams for decades as Freddy Krueger, just scored his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame … and yep, they gave it to him on Halloween. Couldn’t have scripted it better.
The horror legend — best known for his iconic role in A Nightmare on Elm Street — was all smiles Friday morning as he unveiled his shiny new star at 6600 Hollywood Blvd. Englund rocked up to the ceremony with fans dressed in full Freddy gear … gloves, fedoras, and all. Total nightmare nostalgia.
The timing? Chef’s kiss. The 77-year-old actor was honored on October 31, the one day a year Freddy feels right at home. Englund told the crowd he was “deeply moved” and joked that it took “40 years and a lot of dead teenagers” to earn the honor.
Englund’s star is part of the 2025 class of Walk of Fame honorees — joining other legends like Jane Fonda, Prince, and Emilio Estevez. But make no mistake — Friday was his day. Horror fans packed the boulevard, chanting his name and waving posters from the Elm Street franchise.
In a true Freddy move, Englund even posed with his infamous bladed glove for photos — flashing that sinister grin that still gives fans the creeps (in the best way).
The actor’s come a long way from his early theater days, carving out a career that turned him into one of the most recognizable faces — and voices — in horror history. Beyond Freddy, Englund’s popped up in dozens of films and shows, from V to Stranger Things, proving he’s more than just the man in your nightmares.
So yeah, on a day made for monsters, Hollywood finally gave Freddy Krueger his crown — or in this case, his star.
One, two… Hollywood’s coming for you.
