A community is mourning the tragic loss of 10-year-old Kristian Mosley, who died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month in Shreveport, Louisiana.
According to local news reports, Kristian was involved in the crash on the morning of October 12, 2026, at the intersection of Hearne Avenue and Morningside Drive. She was crossing the street with her mother and 5-year-old brother when a vehicle struck the family and fled the scene.
The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. All three family members were transported to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment. Kristian initially suffered life-threatening injuries, while her mother and younger brother sustained less serious injuries.
Despite efforts to save her life, Kristian died on October 24, at 4:14 p.m., according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office. Her death came nearly two weeks after the devastating crash.
Driver Arrested in Hit-and-Run Investigation
Authorities identified 49-year-old Marcous C. LaCour as the alleged driver involved in the collision. Investigators reported that the vehicle, identified as a black Toyota Corolla, was traveling south on Hearne Avenue when it struck the family near the 5400 block.
Police later located the vehicle on Waggoner Avenue. Investigators also determined that the driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle was uninsured.
LaCour was taken into custody on October 12 and arrested on one felony count and two misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run driving. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Funeral Arrangements Announced
Family First Funeral Home has announced that it will handle funeral arrangements for Kristian. As of October 28, funeral details had not yet been released, and the family was seeking assistance with funeral expenses.
