Anika Rashaun, ‘The Real World’ and ‘The Challenge’ Star, Dies at 34 After Battle With Breast Cancer

The reality television community is mourning Anika Rashaun, who appeared on MTV’s The Real World: Seattle: Bad Blood and competed on The Challenge. She died on October 1, 2026, at 34, following a battle with stage 4 breast cancer.

News of her death became public on October 23, when her close friend, Tiara Ramos, shared a tribute. Ramos said Rashaun was diagnosed in the summer of 2025 and continued pursuing the life she loved while undergoing treatment.

From MTV Reality Television to ‘The Challenge’

Rashaun made her television debut in 2016 on The Real World: Seattle: Bad Blood, where her complicated history with former boyfriend Will Groomes became part of the season’s storyline.

She later competed on The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions, which premiered in 2017. Though her time on the series was brief, she formed lasting friendships with fellow cast members.

Friend Remembers Her as Fiercely Loyal

Ramos remembered Rashaun as fiercely loyal, authentic and determined. The friends had known each other for more than 20 years and created the podcast Breast Friends Forever: BFFs Battling BC after Rashaun’s diagnosis to discuss their experiences with breast cancer.

Ramos said she hoped to honor Rashaun by living courageously, embracing new experiences and supporting efforts to find a cure.

Former castmate Theo King-Bradley also paid tribute on social media, remembering their friendship and expressing regret that he did not have another chance to see Rashaun before her death.

A New Chapter Cut Short

Beyond reality television, Rashaun worked as a professional matchmaker and relationship adviser and developed ASKANIKA, a lifestyle, relationship and entertainment brand.

She married Kyle Walker-Rehn in San Marcos, California, on Valentine’s Day in February 2026, just months before her death. Rashaun had also shared updates about her cancer journey, including encouraging news about declining tumor markers in October 2025.
