Jay-Z Reportedly Picks Himself to Headline the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Jay-Z has reportedly selected himself to headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Puck first reported the news on October 20, 2026, citing multiple sources. The NFL and Roc Nation have not confirmed the booking.

The reported choice is notable because Jay-Z has helped shape the Super Bowl’s musical entertainment since Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019. The partnership was renewed in 2024, giving the company continued influence over halftime selections. He could now move from adviser to headliner.

Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus Were Reportedly Considered

Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus were reportedly among the artists considered before Jay-Z emerged as the leading choice. Harry Styles had also been mentioned as a potential contender.

If confirmed, Jay-Z would bring decades of influential music to the halftime stage, including albums such as Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint and 4:44. He has also recently drawn attention through performances marking anniversaries of his classic albums.

A Possible First Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Despite his role in producing the show, Jay-Z has never headlined a Super Bowl halftime performance. His wife, Beyoncé, led the 2013 halftime show in New Orleans and returned as a surprise guest during Coldplay’s 2016 performance alongside Bruno Mars.

A Jay-Z-led show could feature guest appearances from longtime collaborators, though no performers have been confirmed. He is also scheduled to perform at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24, fueling speculation that an announcement could come that weekend.

Until the NFL or Roc Nation confirms the booking, the report remains unverified. If finalized, the performance would place Jay-Z at the center of the halftime production he has helped shape for nearly a decade.
