Tisha Campbell is taking on multiple roles for her next Lifetime project.
The award-winning actress will star in, co-write and executive produce the upcoming original movie One Last Shot, which is scheduled to premiere Saturday, November 14, at 8/7c as part of Lifetime’s 2026 Love of a Lifetime slate.
Campbell stars as Joy Walker, a devoted single mother who has spent much of her life caring for everyone around her, including her church, her community and her teenage son, Chaz, a talented young basketball player portrayed by Jaden Lucas Miller.
Joy’s life takes an unexpected turn when Chaz is diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. Suddenly, she is faced with the emotional and financial challenges of caring for her son while navigating doctors, medical bills and the uncertainty surrounding his condition.
Joy is also forced to reconnect with her ex-husband, Royce, played by Charles Malik Whitfield, as the former couple comes together to support their son during an incredibly difficult period.
As Chaz’s condition worsens, Joy begins confronting something she has spent years avoiding: her own identity. After dedicating so much of herself to the people around her, she must begin figuring out who she is beyond being a mother and caregiver.
The film explores family, sacrifice, community and the importance of finding yourself even during life’s most difficult moments.
Campbell also co-wrote the screenplay with Dani Wright, while Erica Sutherlin directs. The film is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios, with Campbell, Mychael G. Chinn and others serving as executive producers.
The project also marks a special reunion between Campbell and AJ Johnson, who co-starred together in the 1990 classic House Party. Their return to the screen together adds another nostalgic element to the upcoming Lifetime movie.
For Campbell, One Last Shot represents another opportunity to expand her work behind the camera while continuing her long career as an actress. She previously returned to Lifetime earlier this year in Mary J. Blige Presents: Be Happy.
