Tyler Perry‘s hit Netflix drama Beauty in Black isn’t ending after all.
In a surprise move, Netflix has renewed the fan-favorite series for a fourth season ahead of the Season 3 premiere, reversing its previous announcement that the upcoming third season would be the show’s final chapter.
The renewal marks another major milestone for Perry’s successful partnership with Netflix and ensures that the story of the powerful and dysfunctional Bellarie family will continue beyond the previously planned ending.
“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4, and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” Perry said in a statement. “There was so much more I wanted to explore, and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world.”
The announcement comes months after Netflix revealed that Season 3 would serve as the series finale. However, the show’s continued popularity convinced the streaming giant to keep the drama alive. Since premiering in 2024, Beauty in Black has become one of Netflix’s standout originals, earning strong viewership and building a devoted fan base.
Season 3 is expected to continue following Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) as she navigates her new position within the Bellarie family’s empire while dangerous rivalries, betrayals, and long-buried secrets threaten to tear everything apart. Fan favorites including Crystle Stewart are also expected to return as the high-stakes family drama escalates.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Season 4, but the early renewal gives Perry and the creative team ample time to continue expanding the story beyond the events of Season 3.
