JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Just weeks after being selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft, star cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter has made a major personal investment in his new city, purchasing a luxury estate in one of Jacksonville’s most prestigious neighborhoods.
Hunter and his wife, Leanna De La Fuente, closed on the $3.275 million home on May 30, according to public records. Located in the gated Deerwood Country Club community, the 8,125-square-foot residence marks the most expensive sale in the neighborhood’s history.
A Home Fit for a Star
Built in 1995 and situated on 7.5 acres, the two-story estate features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a four-car garage, a wine cellar, tennis court, and a private swimming pool with a spacious patio. The home is designed for both privacy and entertaining—two key priorities for Hunter as he begins his professional career in the spotlight.
The couple toured 16 properties before selecting the Deerwood estate. “It was really special,” said Angela Stringfellow, the couple’s real estate agent, recalling the moment they walked through what would become their new home. “It checked every box for what they were looking for.”
According to reports, the purchase was made through an LLC registered jointly by Hunter and his wife on May 9. The closing followed later that month.
Symbolic Move, Strategic Choice
The purchase reflects a symbolic commitment to Jacksonville, as well as a strategic one. Deerwood Country Club has long been favored by NFL players, particularly those affiliated with the Jaguars. Hunter signed a four-year rookie contract worth $46.6 million, with $28 million guaranteed. His versatility—playing both cornerback and wide receiver—made him one of the most talked-about prospects in the 2025 draft.
