Tory Lanez Hospitalized After Being Stabbed in Prison

Rapper Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was hospitalized on Monday morning after being stabbed by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. The incident occurred in the prison yard, where Lanez, 32, is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion.

According to reports, Lanez sustained multiple stab wounds to the face during the altercation. He was transported by ambulance to a civilian hospital in Bakersfield. While his injuries are serious, they are not considered life-threatening. As of now, no motive for the attack has been disclosed, and both prison officials and Lanez’s representatives have yet to comment on the incident.

Lanez was convicted in December 2022 on three felony counts: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He was sentenced in August 2023 and is eligible for parole in 2029.

Just days before the stabbing, Lanez had shared a photo from prison, announcing that he had completed work on a new album titled “Slutty Bass,” slated for release in summer 2025.

The motive behind the attack remains under investigation. Further details are expected as the situation develops.
