Katt Williams Honored With Street Named After Him

On April 19, 2025, Cincinnati honored its native son, comedian and actor Katt Williams, by unveiling “Katt Williams Way” at the intersection of Reading Road and Maple Avenue in the Avondale neighborhood. This ceremonial street naming recognizes Williams’ significant contributions to comedy and entertainment, as well as his deep roots in the community.

The ceremony was attended by Williams himself, along with city officials, including Vice Mayor Jan-Michelle Lemon Kearney, and members of the community.

“We are so proud to honor Katt Williams today—not just for his talent, but for the way he continues to represent Avondale and Cincinnati wherever he goes,” Kearney said.

Fellow comedians Mo’NiqueTommy Davidson, Mark Curry,  and Redd Grant were also present.

The event celebrated Williams’ journey from his early days in Cincinnati to his successful career in stand-up comedy, film, and television. Notably, Williams’ recent Netflix special, “Katt Williams: Woke Foke,” became the most-watched comedy special of 2024, garnering over 13 million views.

Williams has a list of film credits which includes One of Them Days, First Sunday, Norbit, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2, Father Figures, and he played Money Mike in Friday After Next.

Following the street naming ceremony, Williams performed a sold-out show at the Heritage Bank Center as part of his “Heaven on Earth” tour, marking a triumphant return to his hometown.

This honor adds to Williams’ accolades from Cincinnati; in 2023, the city declared April 27 as “Katt Williams Day,” further cementing his legacy and connection to the community.

“I grew up right here, walked these same streets,” Williams said. “To see this? It’s a full circle moment.”

The dedication of “Katt Williams Way” is a lasting tribute to Williams’ impact on the arts and his enduring ties to Cincinnati.
