Vin Diesel Announces New “Fast & Furious” Peacock Series

The world of fast cars, family, and high-stakes action is expanding once again. NBCUniversal has officially announced that the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise is heading to television, with multiple new series currently in development for Peacock.

According to reports, franchise star and producer Vin Diesel revealed during NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation that Peacock is developing four live-action shows set within the Fast & Furious universe. While only one series has been officially confirmed so far, several projects are reportedly in various stages of development.

The upcoming series will be executive produced by Diesel alongside longtime franchise collaborators Neal Moritz, Chris Morgan, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Pavun Shetty, and Sam Vincent. Writers Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are attached to pen the pilot for one of the shows.

The expansion into television marks a major new chapter for the billion-dollar franchise, which first launched in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. Over the last 25 years, the saga has grown into one of Hollywood’s most successful action franchises, generating more than $7 billion worldwide across its films.

Diesel shared that fans have long wanted to see deeper stories centered around legacy characters from the franchise, making television a natural next step. The actor also acknowledged he was once hesitant about expanding the series too far but now sees the franchise as a global entertainment brand with room to evolve.

The new Peacock projects arrive as Universal prepares for the franchise’s final main film, Fast Forever, currently scheduled for release in March 2028.

This won’t be the franchise’s first venture into television. Netflix previously released the animated series Fast & Furious Spy Racers, which ran from 2019 to 2021 and featured Diesel as an executive producer.

While plot details and casting information for the new live-action shows remain under wraps, the announcement signals that the Fast & Furious universe is far from slowing down. Fans can likely expect more street racing, explosive action, and the franchise’s signature message about loyalty and family — this time on the small screen.
