The vice mayor of Coral Springs was found dead Wednesday in what authorities are calling a suspected domestic violence incident, with her husband now in police custody.
Police identified the victim as Nancy Metayer Bowen, a member of the city commission who had been serving as vice mayor. According to officials, officers responded to a residence where they discovered her deceased.
Investigators say her husband, Stephen Bowen, was taken into custody at the scene and is considered the primary suspect in the case.
Authorities described the case as a “domestic violence incident,” though specific details about what led up to the killing have not yet been released.
