Megan Thee Stallion Speaks Out After Onstage Health Scare During Broadway Show

Megan Thee Stallion is speaking out after a frightening health scare forced her to exit a Broadway performance this week abruptly.

The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media on Wednesday to reassure fans following her hospitalization during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, calling the incident a “wake-up call” after pushing herself too hard.

“I’ve been running on empty,” she shared, admitting she tried to continue performing despite feeling unwell before ultimately being unable to finish the show.

Medical update

According to her team, Megan was transported to a New York hospital after experiencing concerning symptoms during the performance. Doctors later determined she was suffering from extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels.

She has since been treated and discharged and is now resting.

Megan thanks fans, plans return

In her message, Megan thanked supporters for their prayers and concern, saying the moment “scared” her and forced her to prioritize her health moving forward.

She added that she plans to take time to recover before returning to the stage, telling fans she intends to come back “stronger” and ready to give her full energy.

Her team confirmed she is expected to resume performances as soon as Thursday, continuing her limited Broadway run.

What happened on stage

The incident occurred during a Tuesday night performance when Megan suddenly became ill and had to leave the stage. An understudy stepped in to complete the show.

The Houston native recently made her Broadway debut in the production, taking on the role of Harold Zidler in a historic casting moment.

Looking ahead

Despite the scare, Megan remains committed to the production and is expected to continue her run through mid-May, as long as her health allows.

For now, the artist says she is focusing on rest and recovery — and making sure she doesn’t ignore her body’s limits again.
