15-Year-Old Accused in Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old Brother in Wilson, North Carolina

A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after authorities say he fatally shot his 14-year-old brother in a tragic incident that has shaken a local community.

According to the Wilson Police Department, officers responded to a call about a shooting at a home on Woodside Drive West on the evening of March 25, 2026. When they arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and later transported to a medical facility in Greenville, where he died from his injuries.

Officials identified the victim as Clente Barnes-Allen, a student at Forest Hills Middle School. School administrators shared the news with families, describing the loss as devastating and offering counseling services to students and staff.

Police say the victim’s 15-year-old brother has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Due to his age, his identity has not been publicly released. He is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility.
