Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles is adding “restaurateur” to her long list of accomplishments after officially opening a new dining concept inside George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
The restaurant, called “Taste of Gold,” debuted March 24 in Terminal A near Gate A8, marking Biles’ first venture into the food and hospitality industry.
A Taste of Houston with Olympic Flair
The airport eatery offers a casual yet upscale menu featuring sandwiches, salads, desserts, and shareable plates, including a signature item known as “Simone’s Skewers.”
Designed to reflect Biles’ decorated gymnastics career, the space includes sports-themed décor, large-screen televisions, and custom artwork inspired by her Olympic achievements.
“As a frequent traveler, I wanted to help create a place where people can relax and enjoy a meal,” Biles said in a statement about the new venture.

Partnership and Vision
The project was developed in collaboration with the Athlete Playmaker Group, a company known for creating airport dining concepts tied to professional athletes.
Airport officials praised the addition, noting that Biles’ global influence brings a unique and local touch to one of the nation’s busiest travel hubs.
Opening Amid Travel Challenges
The restaurant’s launch came during a turbulent time for air travel, as a partial government shutdown led to staffing shortages among TSA agents and unusually long security wait times at the airport.
Despite the disruptions, the opening provided a bright spot for travelers passing through Houston, offering a new dining option rooted in the city’s culture and one of its most celebrated athletes.

What’s Next
Biles has hinted that “Taste of Gold” could expand to other airports across Texas, signaling that this may be just the beginning of her business journey beyond gymnastics.
The restaurant is currently open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., welcoming travelers looking for a quick bite or a relaxing stop before their flight.
