The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has unveiled its nominees for the Class of 2026 — and this year’s ballot is one of the most genre-spanning in recent memory.
Seventeen artists are in the running, including R&B legends, hip-hop pioneers, pop icons, and rock trailblazers.

First-Time Nominees Making History
Ten artists appear on the ballot for the first time, including Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, New Edition, and Wu-Tang Clan.
Hill becomes eligible 25 years after the release of her groundbreaking 1998 debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which won Album of the Year at the Grammys and left a lasting imprint on R&B and hip-hop.
Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), reshaped rap’s sound — and its business model.
New Edition, who debuted in 1983 with Candy Girl, helped define the modern boy band blueprint.
And the incomparable Luther Vandross launched his solo career in 1981 with Never Too Much after years as one of the industry’s most sought-after background vocalists.
Returning to the Ballot
Mariah Carey receives her third nomination, while Sade earns their second after a 2024 nod. Both remain hugely influential artists whose catalogs continue to resonate across generations.
Phil Collins, already inducted in 2010 as a member of Genesis, is now being recognized for his massive solo success — including over 100 million albums sold and hits like “In the Air Tonight.”
Looking Ahead
The final 2026 inductees will be announced in April.
The Class of 2025 included Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa, and The White Stripes.
The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville, Tennessee, later this year.
Fans can vote daily in the Rock Hall fan vote.
