Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Denied Temporary Guardianship of His Daughter
Late hip hip artist Nipsey Hussle’s sister filed for temporary guardianship of his daughter Emani Asghedon and a judge denied her request.
via The Blast:
Samantha Smith claims her push for temporary guardianship lies in her desire “to ensure that she (Emani) can continue to live with family members with whom she has always had close ties.” Nipsey’s family also believes that Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster cannot properly provide a stable environment for her.
In 2013, Nipsey and Tanisha were granted joint custody of their daughter. Nipsey had Emani on weekends and Tanisha taking her during the week. However, Samantha claims the late rapper became her primary caretaker and spent the majority of her time with her father.
In her request, Samantha says she has “always been a presence in Emani’s life and along with the rest of Emani’s paternal family has assisted in her care.”
Samantha also indicated in her request that she did not want to inform Emani’s mother but the judge ruled that she must be given notice of the hearing.
