‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star, Amy Slaton, Husband Files For Divorce
Sad news for fans of the reality TV show, ‘1000-Lb Sisters’.
Amy Slaton and her husband, Michael Halterman, are calling it quits. The couple married in March 2019.
US Weekly reported that Michael, 40, filed for divorce from Amy, 35, on March 13th in Kentucky. Sadly this news comes only months after the couple welcomed their second child, Glenn Allen Halterman Their baby boy arrived on July 5th, 2022. The couple’s first child, Gage Deon, was born in November 2020.
Though Amy and Michael were married for only four years, their relationship dates back to when they were kids.
Amy told The Sun, “We actually met when I was eight so we were dating then, but then when he turned 18, we stopped dating until recently,”. She continued, “He loves me and supports me. He don’t care how much I weigh, how much I lose. He doesn’t care.”
Amy, who stars on TLC’s 1000-Lb. Sisters alongside her sister, Tammy Slaton, recently opened up about the highs and lows of having two kids under the age of 2.
“The best part is getting to see them interact with each other and get to know each other,” Amy said in an interview with E News. “The worst part is when I’m home alone with the two of them and they both start crying at the same time. I don’t know which one to give my attention to first.”
Ahead of her split from Halterman, Amy confirmed that the duo was not planning to have more kids. “I do not want more kids, my family is complete!”. “As a busy mom, I just take care of them, when they sleep that’s when I get a bath or do other things for myself.”
