Have y’all ever heard of that song “It’s Cheaper To Keep Her”? Well actor Mike Epps might wanna put that joint on repeat and listen to the words very carefully. I guess you all have heard that Epps left his wife of 10 years back in January of last year. Well according to TMZ, Mechelle aint leaving the marriage quietly nor without plenty of mulah. Here’s what the former actress is asking for from her soon-to-be ex hubby.
“Mike Epps‘ estranged wife is asking him to fork over six-figures every month to support the fam … according to new docs.
Mechelle Epps claims Mike makes $3.5 million a year, but recently cut her off from bank accounts and credit cards, leaving her high and dry with zero income. She says Mike never wanted her to work during their marriage, and now she can’t land a job because she’s too old at 36.
In the docs, Mechelle says she spends several thousand bucks a month on shoes and clothes for their 10 and 12-year-old girls. Plus, the girls have to get their hair braided at an “expensive salon” … not to mention food, vacations and $72k per year for private schooling.
Mechelle says her mom handles nanny duties for a mere $3,500 monthly, plus another $600 to cover Mom’s Mercedes.
According to the docs, $109,036 per month from Mike should cover everything. Mechelle also wants sole possession of their house. He filed for divorce in January 2016, but they’ve yet to reach a final settlement.”
Where oh WHERE do I begin. First of all….did Mechelle really say she was too old to get a job as an actor at 36 years old? Have she ever heard of Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Those two leading ladies didn’t hit their stride until they were well above 40. And if you feel like you are too old to gain employment as an actress, then find something else to do. Shoot. Reality television is always hiring….ESPECIALLY someone with a good storyline like you.
And do we really need to spend several thousands of dollars in shoes and clothes for the girls every month? And do they have to have their hair braided at an “expensive” salon? Couldn’t Pookie or Nay Nay up the street tighten up the girls locks? It’s clear that Mike has all THREE of these girls spoiled rotten.
What do y’all think about the amount Mechelle is asking in financial support. Is it too much for someone who brings in $3.5 million a year? Should the judge order Ms. Epps to seek a job?
I think she deserves a good amount every month but what she’s asking for is ridiculous. An “expensive salon”? Really? Girl, bye! She better learn how to budget like the rest of us.
